| At showing, this was filled in by the prior owner, Minister Tarpley to appear as a 2x2 private property ditch that surround the house (see picture below with illegal runoff water flowing through one of those ditches). I had driven up from NJ for the showing in 12/2009, a 2" fresh snow covered the ditch. No water issues my number one concern. Agents did not disclose any and assured me there were none. In 3/2010 we went into contract. From NJ, I hired at the recommendation of my agent- Jan Andrews, DJ Brown Property Inspector. April 2010 inspection done, supervised by Jan's colleague- agent Sam Mitchell. They all knew that ditch was used for massive runoff and meltoff from miles outside and even inside of Seaview Terrace. Nothing disclosed. Moved in 6/2010. Safe at last. 4/2011 wild rapids- 4 ft. high, 12 ft across tore through my property for almost 2 weeks. This ravine is my 2x2 ditch. I was lucky to have put my 6k new fence up with a 20 ft buffer to my boundary line. It would have been gone. It's been a terror assault since. 6 years and counting. |

Dear Readers,
The events that lead to my relocation to Belfast in 2010 are traumatic and those I will keep private. The real estate agents in Belfast with hold public information and in my case, unethical dealings off the charts. My other blogs detail the trickle down corruption with each agency holding hands, and attorneys spinning in delight.
All I have is in this house that the City is destroying. The real estate agents were fully aware that I was refusing any properties with water issues, cracked foundations, wet properties, and definitely those with streams running through them. I was meticulous in my purchase- taking many months, asking question after question, I was a summer time resident in the neighboring village of Bayside, Town of Northport, since 1969. Full time resident of NJ, working full time since I was 17, I came to Bayside every chance I got. My mom gave the cottage to my brother and I don't have anything nice to say about him.
In 1995, with all our savings, my then husband (NJ resident, never to Maine till I brought him) was blowing the 30k on a jeep. I kept pleading with him to let me just buy a piece of land in Bayside where I could pitch a tent and maybe build a cottage some day. Her refused. Three times the brand new jeep came in with a defective paint job. The 3rd time the salesman came out with a spray can to spray over the defects. Right in front of us! Husband said, go try and buy a piece of land. I drove through the night on that Columbus Day weekend and told Blair (Baysider & real estate agent that I knew 25 years) I will be buying. And I did. A wooded lot for 24k. We got lucky on some stocks and in 1997 my dream was built, a year round home in Bayside,
I lost it in the divorce in 2007, my ex stole it from me and assumed my life in Bayside with the last of my family, Sid from Toy Story, my brother. It was devastating.
The silver lining was that since my ex now had the house in Bayside, and went there with our kids for 6 weeks during the summer while I was trapped in NJ, there may be a chance for relocation with the children. That chance came when I was a step away from destitution in 2009. Contested relocation is rarely awarded, and we were in bad shape. This was my only chance, no mistakes, Belfast or bust. I did it, alone, against all harrowing odds.
The depth of the corruption in Belfast is astounding. City Hall and the real estate agents thought they could bury me when I found out that they sold me a nightmare. A common practice is to flood residents in lieu of infrastructure. Spending property tax dollars on corrupt ego's and their visions. I now have a masters degree in their infecting corruption. Maine is 4th in corruption, prime rural pickings. I had just endured corruption in the family courts in NJ through immediate family estate theft (sibling addicts) and then divorce. I was in the trenches with no one lending a hand..
As in NJ, the abuse in Belfast is too much for the public. It is easier to find fault with me then to see the corruption and react to that. It's been 4 long years of torturous corruption. All the proving documents in their hands, with held, denied and manipulated. It is enormous. DEP Commissioner Aho, Attorney General, Maine Real Estate Commission, Property Inspectors, City Planner, City Manager, City Council, Mayor, City Attorney, businesses, implicated residents... I have uncovered the masses.
Surviving train wreck after train wreck, to be illegally deceived by real estate agents and Belfast City Hall. Basic property rights, privacy and safety slaughtered by force channeled run off and melt off (also illegal because of stock piling on sites that were to remove "plowable" snow offsite per zoning) But City Hall allows businesses to break ordinance to flood and destroy private properties in the targeted health care area.
9 months after moving here, wild rapids came tearing and thundering through my yard for over a week, Tearing away 1/3 of my back yard property. The sheer corruption and calculated flooding of Seaview Terrace by so many officials is maniacal. Four years later, I have zero tolerance and take liberty in throwing some hard public postings. This is life threatening and clear destruction to Seaview Terrace, day in and day out. No holds barred. They are dangerous.
It is an epidemic. Most of the honest, step back and take care of their own. Taking on the corrupt will devastate your livelihood, privacy, safety, all your basic rights to life. This enables the corruption to spread and implicate. I am shunned by most, and that in itself is a blessing. I prefer that to those who feign concern. I am not holding to anyone, one has to be squeaky clean to whistle blow on the corrupt. I have nothing to hide.
Focusing on the corrupt government and businesses in Maine that violate basic rights and property, and health since 2010 are:
1. Town and Country Real Estate now Masiello Group, High St., Belfast, Maine. Owner Earl Black fully supporting his agents, Bill Ingersoll, Jan Andrews (retired), Sam Mitchell in the sale of hell. Not disclosing the stream, not disclosing a flood zone, recommending the property inspector- DJ Brown Associates. Sam Mitchell supervising the inspection done in the spring- the stream and eroding banks not disclosed at all. The property is only 1/4 of an acre. I drove up to see it in 12/2009. A fresh snow covered the than 1 ft high- 2 ft wide ditch. I was adamant- no water, no streams. No problems they said. Spring melt of 2011 would send wild rapids through my small yard for 2 weeks, ripping away 1/4 of my property, my new 6k fence almost falling in.
I went to City Hall to the City Planner, Wayne Marshall to find out where all this water was coming from. He laughed, turned to the map on the wall and traced at least 4 paths of miles of area merging into Seaview Terrace. A 250 ft long dead end street, private property, no easements, right of ways, flood plain and flood zone. I looked at him and said "You can't do that. I want a copy of this map." That was in 4/2011 and the start of the smack down to Laurie Allen. Maps went missing, doors slammed shut, abuse off the charts. Aided and abetted by all the players- state and local wide. Thugville. Just what I had crawled away from but now it was many, many more. With my ex and family joining in to break me and jeopardize relocation and the little stability we were hanging on to. Wait it gets worse.
2. I began working in credit card services @ XXXX XX XXXXXXX in Belfast, 8/2010. 40 hours at a desk soon took its toll on my active back. After the 2nd week into training, pain was setting in. I would stand as often as possible during presentations and told the trainer I needed an ergo station. They were through out the office- the desk pops up to allow for standing. The training was for 6 weeks and I was assured that an ergo desk would be provided when I went into my group. The desk was not provided. The pain increasing, visible to my manager and co-workers, I asked again and again for the desk. I was told it would be coming, excuse after excuse. Three months later- my back froze for good. I did not know it was arthritis, a visit to my Dr. confirmed it. I could not sit at all. The pain was instant. I had to keep moving or lay down. I had to take a leave from work, no pay. Into physical therapy and exercises. I was beyond skeptical. The pain was so bad, I thought I would never recover. About 6 weeks later after following instructions to the T, I was much, much better. It was amazing. I just had to keep moving.
My Dr. released me back to work, with orders for the ergo station to be in place. My manager, XXXX XXXXX and personnel, XXXXX ?? (I forget) told me on the phone that I had to go back to my Dr. and have him remove the order for the ergo work station. They did not have one ready. I had just spent almost 5 months in debilitating pain as a single parent, head of household, 6 weeks without pay, and they are sending me right back into it. No. They did not provide the ergo station and my employment ended. No disability and no employment. The floods hadn't hit yet. I was battling corruption with Lowes, Bank Of America and Troy Howard Middle School and it would grow to J&B Autobdy- John Smith, Ridgetop Chimney Sweep, Searsmont- Chris Kulbe, Belfast Area High School- Guidance Director Jim Davis, Guidance Jessica Woods, Principal Fitzpatrick, Superintendent Carpenter...
3. Lowes and dog hating neighbors, 8/2010. I moved in on 6/25/2010 with my son and 2 beagles. I had tried to get a privacy fence installed before I moved in. Beagles are loud when provoked and I did not want any trouble. Immediately, 2 distant neighbors began harassment. Calling animal control, calling me, coming to my house, another neighbor telling me of similar harassment. Her tiny dog even further away, they were relentless until she put a shock collar on. Her dog would never be the same and she never forgave herself.
I had Lowes put up a 5 ft fence, with triple screening. I was always home when I let them out and got them quiet with in minutes of provoked barking. The Smith's did not let up. I went to the the Chief of Police, very concerned that they would take me to court. The Chief told me of a judge in Augusta recently ordering the removal of a dog's voice box!! I told him to put camera's on my yard to prove I was not in any violations. I asked him to come visit to see my fence and how I went above and beyond to accommodate these 2 distant neighbors. All my other neighbors were normal humans, accepting and understanding as one needs to be when living in an open community. Gated communities are for those with issues. Seaview Terrace is not that. At all. Many have dogs, the hospital sirens, motorcycles, Rte 1, helicopters (pad at the hospital across the street).
The Chief came, he was impressed. David Smith went to the Chief later that week to take action against me. The Chief became concerned for my safety, this neighbor is intense. The Chief suggested that I get an order of protection against the Smith's. Lovely. Done. The other old neighbors would continue to call animal control, even with closed windows- claiming they could hear them barking at times. They would speak against me to the City Council and City Manager- (these neighbors also were illegally sending me their storm water with the assistance of the City- also illegal). Super.
The fence and new front door were not what I ordered and paid for. The installations were poor. I went to Lowe's because of their guarantee. I knew local contractors may rip me off. Lowe's was no better. Months and months, they blew me off. I went to the top, had the district regional manager come to my home for an inspection. He agreed with the issues, he refunded the door and the fence was to be resolved. The fence was not, I finally took them to small claims court and won. This was underway when the floods came crashing in and I was unemployed in 4/2011.
Keith Wry of Belfast is a top notch, honest contractor. The sub contractor Lowe's used for my re-roofing was also top notch. They are few and far between. I am thankful for them.
From there on, it was full steam ahead to save my home. No choice. Four years later, I have taken punch after punch, you have no idea what my brother's and ex have added to it, dragging in the kids.
I'll leave out the corruption with the principal, Kim Buckheit at Troy Howard Middle School. At the Belfast Area High School, Director of Guidance, Jim Davis and Principal Fitzpatrick are even worse. My son, a star AP student, his education jeopardized by them. More is on www.waldokids.blogspot.com but I let that go. The student becomes their target. His teachers, except for one, Mr. Hamm, have been tops.
Update 2015- Senior year- Superintendent Knowles, BAHS Guidance Director James Davis, Principal Fitzpatrick, School Board- all crush my son. Unbelievable. Then we have J&B Autobody in Belfast. In 2012, I had rust in the floor board of my 2002 Explorer. Skip (the owner) told me it would cost $500-600 to repair. It actually cost almost $1200. When I got it back, the seat belt was broken. I called Skip, he said to bring it in. I came and he was out in the yard. After waiting a long while, I tracked him down. He was rude, said he's busy- go to the office. As I did, there was a guy in my Explorer. My purse was in there, wide open and I was alarmed. This guy was rude too. I got my purse and he nailed the accelerator right in front of me and into the garage. I sat alone in the office. Skip never came in. Then the same guy brought my Explorer out of the garage. Nailing it again and jerking it to a stop. I came out and asked him if he fixed the seat belt and he said "See for yourself." and walked away. I was shaken and afraid. That week I noticed rust stains in the area of repair. I called and called. Skip would not return my call. I was shot. I just couldn't bear this again. What was I supposed to do? Demand him to fix it- unsupervised after seeing them beat on my SUV. Doubled the price to fix. Didn't fix it, just painted over it. Now, if I gave it to them, who knows what they will do to it. Skip never returned my calls.
Many months later, I would run into him at the dog vet. I was pleasant, kept the conversation light. He was receptive. I decided to drive over and show him the rust. He looked and said that was bad. I explained the poor treatment he and his staff gave me after they got my money. He bristled, told me he'd fix it, call him in a few months. He was too busy now. I sent him a written document for security, requesting to be present for an inspection under the lift, with pictures. I needed a rental car at his expense while the repair was made, under his direct supervision. I feared more damage to my SUV and wanted full assurance he would guarantee full repair without any damages. Skip refused to sign the document. Leaving me an insulting, bullying message instead. Here we go again.
For 2 years, another businessman, Chris Kulbe, Ridge Top Chimney Sweep has also been lying to me. Safety concerns where he cut corners. Thug after thug. He pretended to be my Jersey friend, I hired him because he was a professional, insured and a firefighter. He is lying and just got caught by Woodstock Soapstone Stoves. Here I go again.
And still getting beat up by City Hall, real estate agents, some local businesses, some of the public, some neighbors, some family... all for speaking up against documented, proven corruption. Law suits can break me totally. I'm hanging in there and fighting the fight. They did this to me. I did not ask for any of this. Do not want any of this. They abuse and rob us (me and my children), robbed our rights, our property, our privacy, our safety, it's personal for me. Business for them, I'm dispensable.
Dr. Zanca (Belfast orthodontist) really took advantage. Stringing us along for 4 years with our trust. I'll post all the proof of basic malpractice eventually. Update 2015- see www.DrZanca.blogspot.com
This may help another too. I have Maine Community (Obama Care). I am covered for a physical once a year. Last year I got socked with lab bills of almost $400. My Dr. had ordered a CB panel that was not covered. The only blood work covered is for cholesterol. This year, I called the insurance prior to the physical to verify exactly what was covered. It was the same. I called the Dr. and told them that the only blood work I wanted done was the cholesterol and I explained why. This was on a Friday, my appt. was on Monday.
The nurse said she would send the order to the WCGH lab and I could get the test done that Saturday morning and the Dr. would have the results for the physical on Monday. Ok. On Saturday, the lab tech. comes at me with 2 vials. I tell her the only test is for cholesterol. She states the order is for 3 tests. I tell her that I am not covered under insurance for those tests and to cancel them. I told her that the Dr. knew that and should not have ordered those. She said that I must be covered because her computer would have kicked that back. I told her that is even more evil. I explained that I specifically validated was I was covered for with the insurance the day before. The fact that the hospital computer is saying I am covered would have socked me with another $400+ bill. I told her that to report that. It is outrageous. I told her to cancel those 2 tests and my Dr. was not sympathetic. He said he likes to see the full testing. He should have discussed that with me on Friday when I called to make sure that he only tested me for cholesterol and I told him that. I am quite unbelievably healthy and there was no need for additional testing that I cannot afford.
This is difficult for a Dr. to deal with. He knows my family history of cancer- my Dad died @ 56, my sister @ 54, my brother @ 64, my half brother (my mom's line) @ 67 and I do not know the types of cancer. I am 54. They did not take care of themselves, I do and I am vigilant.
Update 2016. I am not going for my physical or mammogram this year. I fear they will misdiagnose me with intent to harm. I have been protesting MaineHealth site corruption and dynamite blasting (never advised of this in the public hearing for the Annex site abutting my property- nor the clear cutting of 2? acres of trees, nor the drainage plan proposed.)
In 2015 I received 2 anonymous sexually threatening letters with City Hall markings. Police Chief Mike McFadden turned against me along time ago and would not help me. Sheriff Trafton said he was concerned but he could not investigate.
After speaking at over 50 City Council meetings, many public intimidation and discrimination acts by City Hall, City Council, City Attorney, Public Works and my son's school officials, I know I ams getting closer to being arrested for some false loophole. Especially after using my other brother's death on 9/4/2014 to assault my property and street when they thought I'd be in Alabama for the posted funeral. Minister Perkins told them. I had sent him an email thinking he cared. Stupid me, City Council Roger Lee is the treasurer of the UU Church. I didn't know that. These people are beyond cruel. Inhumane. So many of them too.
I am very careful. I only drive when necessary and never break any laws and do not have any records. Staying clean and healthy is imperative. They can't get me....so far.
I hope these blogs serve to save another. Serve to succeed in stopping the corruption. Serve for awareness. That is my intent, I am not in search of attention in any facet. Only if it serves to hold people accountable, I'll blow the horns full blast until.

Putin City Hall, Belfast Maine... Vladimir Hurley Belfast City Council from New Jersey totally knows the City is illegally drowning us. They lock up the documents and deny all. Here's a sample of during the first year. Hurley is the king pin. Owns several businesses and is on "Fire" for Belfast- downtown Belfast that is. Robbing and drowning the wee ones for his visions. Force Flood them and tell them it's a natural outlet and mother nature. Then after we wipe them out, take it through inverse condemnation and put down a parking lot for the new healthcare area. After 7 month of being shoved down rabbit hole after rabbit hole, I went public on 11/1/11. I was scared to death, relocation was contested and awarded. I needed to be under all radar. After my 2nd speaking Hurley takes a public rant against me. I am home watching and frightened for my safety. A City Council member attacking a resident for speaking truth of force flooding and intimidation tactics. Here is his rant. He has done this for 4 years. Wayne is the Belfast City Planner and Joe is the Belfast City Manager. For the prior 7 months, those 2 have buried documents, lied, denied, told employees not to help me, on and on. Slam, slam, slam.

May have to begin listening at 19 minutes, but don't ff- it will skip to end again. You can back it up too. I give almost 15 minutes of choking testimony. After my wrenching public plea to stop flooding us 52 minutes into meeting City Manager Joe Slocum tries to deflect from missing map and discredit me, that was only the beginning of the missing documents that Wayne must have hid when you hear him give the history of the development 56 minutes into meeting. When questioned by Council, Mike Hurley as to what is Belfast's Storm Water Ordinance, Wayne Marshall, City Planner and torturer of my life, states it directs to send storm water to nearest PUBLIC waterway- streams. I have requested this ordinance since and he fails to produce it... he must be lying and Seaview Terrace is NOT a public waterway, the City has no right aways or easements...THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!Then Mike Hurley says this storm water flooding is Council's problem but then they vote to take no action in the 1/3/12 Meeting where they brought in the City Attorney who had more public documents with held from me specific to my property. When I tried to question him he ran away and Council closed the discussion.
12/6/11 City Hall Meeting- I speak publicly ff to 28 minutes - 45 minutes in- I'm new to speaking and stumbling but effective- @41 minutes I'm free wheeling for the last 5 minutes. YOU MUST GO TO THE BREAK @ 2 HOURS 5 MINUTES IN. Sound is off but Slocum's hands are flying- then @ 2:11:05 here he comes with maps that I was never allowed to see. Swarming and pouring. THEN HURLEY DOESN'T KNOW THE MIKE IS BACK ON AND AT 2:14:19 SAYS "Give her an answer. "Are we going to build her a storm system or not." The answer is not, lets nail her and he proceeds to doing just that @ 2:25:56 until 2:29:13. I let it rip with truth and maps. After 8 months of avoidance, corruption and lies, the public must know that Council IS KNOWINGLY FLOODING THE CITY ENDANGERED FLOOD ZONE OF SEAVIEW TERRACE AND TAKING OUR TAX DOLLARS AND BUYING RECREATIONAL PARCELS FOR MILLIONS AND WILL COST MILLIONS TO DEVELOP...SEAVIEW TERRACE PROPERTY IS WORTHLESS BECAUSE OF CITY OFFICIALS.Verbal Planning approvals with residents present are a sham. What the Planning Board approves and what the Planning Manager, Wayne Marshall DOES are night and day. Impossible for the resident to get accountability and public documents.

I came to the entire subject early on when we stated getting copied here on everything, wit a pretty open mind about it, well, is there a problem here? What’s the problem? I think that’s what we do her quite often is hey what’s the problem and try to fix it and if there is something we can do.
I want to say I had an open mind to it but having had the avalanche of emails that we received and what we heard tonight again, I just want to say that, ya know, if anybody thinks the way to solve a problem is to insult people with things like, Wayne’s World, Ignorant, Dysfunctional, Shot to Hell, Deceiving, Corruption, Lies, Cover Ups, Bullied, I want to add one word…RIDICULOUS. I’ve worked with all these guys and I’ve been on the wrong side of government in the past and I’ve been on the wrong side of government while I’ve been in government. And ya know, it’s just ridiculous to listen to this stuff.
I would not object to putting this on the agenda for us to talk about what we should do about this if anything.(out of quote for me to say they put it on the 1/4/12 agenda and brought in the City Attorney Bill Kelly to speak for them and shut it down.With more with held public documents. Council voted No Action.) I am at home watching Hurley say this on live TV and am horrified and frightened. He just made me a public enemy to any feeling threatened by a woman and/or honesty. While any storm can take me out. The witch hunt is on. That was 4 years ago.

Hi Laurie/ what you have called my denouncing of you is a misinterpretation. I am denouncing your attitude and your language. You have repeatedly used insulting language that is unacceptable to me. Hi Laurie/ I’ve been on the good and bad side of government for many years. I believe I have a pretty good knowledge of how government acts and responds to citizens such as yourself. I first came into government, ran for office, to change how people were treated by their government. When you are speaking in public: that is your time to speak. It’s not a debate. If communications had come after you spoke I would have said exactly what I said later in communications. I stand by my comments. I have championed many people who felt they were getting a bad deal from local or state government. I, and the rest of us in city government, including Wayne Marshall and Joe Slocum, actually do this because we like serving the public. If you don’t like hearing from and helping people to the best of our ability there isn’t much else in the job. But often we have to also tell people that we can’t help them and no one likes to hear that. If no one told you there was a stream on your property how is that a city concern? If as you think; you were mislead by a realtor , how is that a concern of the city? There is a realtor review board and lawyers are always ready to take a case. As far as the stream that may or may have not been moved back almost 50 years ago do you want us to take action based on that possibility? How would you feel if you were perfectly happy in your home and we came along and said “50 years ago they moved the stream and you need to move it back?” I think any reasonable person would say 50 years ago is no longer anyone’s responsibility. At this point; whatever is on the ground is what it is. You make a number of points that essentially hinge on
1. that we have moved water that used to not flow through your stream on your property
2. that development approved by the City of Belfast has sped water downstream that used to not flow at the same speed or volume
I have looked at the maps available at City Hall and I do not agree with your point # 1. When I look at the water retention that was designed and built by the various projects they do not appear to be failing or unable to hold back the water. I have looked at the stream and I have a differing view than yours and what should be done about it, if anything. There may be more rain but that is another office higher than mine.
My point about communication is that you have repeatedly used language that is destructive to problem solving. Sometimes you have to choose between fighting and problem solving. From my experience the use of language like Wayne’s World, corruption, lies, cover-ups, bullying, ignorant, shot to Hell, dysfunctional, and deceiving among them create an atmosphere that is not conducive to problem solving. I reject all of those descriptions and terms.
I expect we will discuss our storm water responsibilities. There are dozens of streams such as yours, I have one that crosses my property, and how the city deals with our responsibilities to safeguard stream banks is a good topic for us to consider. I am very sorry you have had such a tortured experience. I believe turning down the rhetoric is always a better way to find a solution; if there is one available. In the end you may remain unhappy with the city response. Having sued the City of Belfast myself in the past that is always a option for you to consider. And if your attorney talked to a judge with the language you use routinely you’d probably fire him. I hope that you will find a way not be driven unhappily by this very stressful situation. 11/17/2014 There are many more personal attacks by City Council Vladimir Hurley as recent as 9/2015. Imagine what is said to the parties he controls. People I have known since youth summers from 1969 in the neighboring village of Bayside have stabbed me in the back to stay in the graces of Putin Hall and Belfast "community". Council remains silent and hires City Attorney, Bill Kelly with our tax dollars to try and deflect the forced flooding. Impossible to know, I have been intimidated and refused information on my property for 10 months and counting. ) A 1987 City hired engineer report that...SURPRISE- does not hold the City accountable for flooding. In fact, even with residents complaints of flooding in 1987, begins the City Planning approvals for Capt Albert Stevens School, Volunteers of America, Tall Pines, MidCoast Mental Health to build, eliminating ground absorption, accumulating storm water in huge dug out pools and channel down to private property, Seaview Terrace. Clobber us further by taking the storm water across Rte 1 from the Armory, National Guard, down to Pray's Homes along the side, back towards the trailer park, meandering and to accumulate more stormwater from who knows how far back and back across Rte 1, culvert forced directly into Seaview Terrace.
During Katrina, I was(and still am) fighting to save my home/neighborhood from the same. I had sent my Belfast City Council rep., Marina DeLune an email- 10 months of begging City Council to investigate with a quote from Brad Pitt . She called me in a threat to the Chief of Police and I was summoned into pokey. She later apologized but what if I the Chief didn't think I was stable? I had just moved us out of destruction and the last thing we needed was this. Four years later, it is beyond scope. I keep vigil exposure.

Just now on Sunday Morning, Brad Pitt spoke about his help to New Orleans. He said nothing makes him angrier than hearing that the devastation was due to an "Act of God" when it is the "Failure of Man". Deja Vu.
Looking the other way through rose colored glasses is open invitation for those who have other ways. Someone has to fight back- you are not willing to see it and that is dangerous since you are Council. It is difficult and crushing while you support evil dealings and that has happened to other residents. However, they don't have the money to fight back or the strength. You will see, I hope you will try before it blows up.

I wanted to thank the Chief for reaching out to me on 1/30/12 in regards to the email above. I want to clarify the email and put Marina at ease. I meant that it is dangerous for ME that Marina does not see or acknowledge that I feel threatened because of the verbal discrediting/slander broadcast on TV from Mike Hurley, Joe Slocum and Wayne Marshall.
I meant that I will continue to make this very public until resolution ( hence, before it blows up). I have been trying since May to handle this with dignity and honesty. At minimum, it would have been professional and ethical for the slander and discrediting against me to have been publicly retracted as I requested and was denied. For the record, I will forward those communications from Mike Hurley and me. I did express concern for my safety yesterday to Chief McFadden. There are many men with anger issues against strong women. Mike Hurley had no right to place me in jeopardy.
I should have contacted the Chief of Police immediately but didn't want to cause further friction.

Thank-you for your email.
I feel a little guilty and embarrassed now about what was clearly an overreaction to your email, but I did feel threatened by the language and was truly afraid that things had escalated out off control and might end in violence.
I have been fully reassured by the Chief that there is no danger of physical harm from you, and I hope that you can have that same reassurance for yourself in regards to the Council. We have no desire to keep you from having your say. Nobody has any plans or desire to have you intimidated from having your say, and I'm quite certain that the Chief did a good job at conveying that.
I have been insulted several times, quite outrageously, by Mike Hurley, as have many, many other people. It's almost a rite of passage living in Belfast, and anyone who has lived in Belfast for awhile is very aware of this. Rather than damaging your reputation, you are much more likely to have gained sympathy from the public
He rarely apologizes. But he will often turn right around later and do something kind and helpful.
Believe it or not, after his rant, he tried to find a way that we could help you to reinforce the banks of your stream inexpensively using some kind of wire netting system. We were told that the City can not selectively help out in matters involving private property- that in matters concerning drainage if we set a precedent it could cost millions and millions of dollars to help everyone else.. But Mike did sincerely make an effort to help you, doing research as to what was out there that could do the job inexpensively. He does really care about people, he just has a very short fuse, But once he's blown off steam, he doesn't hold on to his anger. Physically, I can assure you, he wouldn't hurt a fly, and you are in no danger.
Laurie, at the neighborhood site visit, I heard both Chris Cabot from the DEP and Mike Hogan say that your drainage and erosion problem was not a serious one, and that it could be adequately addressed with $2000 to $3000 worth of work. I know that you are very hard up for money, so perhaps there is little comfort in that for you. But I also I know that you feel your house is in imminent danger, but that is not the impression that I got from them at all. Perhaps Mike Hogan would be willing to talk to you about that and have some helpful suggestions.
I have received some free information from the Waldo County Cooperative Extension about various inexpensive plantings that I can do to help prevent erosion along the bank of my property in Stockton Springs. I don't know if that would be helpful information for you, but if you think it might be, their phone number is 342-5971.

DEP is in on it approving the very sites to drain to my property. Some designed by Mike Hogan. The DEP somehow deemed my private property drainage ditch that is NOT a natural outlet, as wetlands. Giving them regulation and corrupt approvals to send runoff from miles away to my property. "Not a serious one, could be adequately addressed with $2000 to $3000" Marina is lying. Just to shore up the sides are estimates of 75-80k because it's "wetlands" and requires permit by rule, engineering, etc. And that's just to try to stop the rest of my yard and fence from getting swept away from the next heavy rain, meltoff from illegal snow piling- look at the map I drew, the video of destruction from ONE spring melt lasting for days. The expense to correctly mitigate with infrastructure is big. Hence- make me look "ridiculous" and torture her for every request for help till she breaks.

Here is the Chief after my threat assessment. (I had also cited concern for the new police presence specifically brought in for me during my public speakings at the City Council meetings. The Chief was not in support of that, but Gotham City Manager Joe Slocum ordered it. Protect the corrupt officials by pulling the protection for the people off the streets. As the years went on, Slocum would have the Police department intimidate me 2 more times in private, off the record, not in the station. I do not allow that anymore. I watch my back, front, sides, where I go, what I do, what I say, and am not a welcome community member in the downtown. The Chamber of Commerce are funded by City Hall. Slapping and drowning residents. Boycott Belfast.

I read through the emails you sent me, but to tell you the truth I haven’t identified anything the Police would or should become involved in. That being said I want you to feel comfortable calling on us if someone/something is causing you to become afraid. I wish you nothing but good luck with your efforts, I said that to you when we met and I mean it.
As for me being mislead about you. I really hope I didn’t project that to you. My impression of you really only got better after we spoke, but it didn’t change. My impression of you was that you are a fighter (Not a bad thing) and you’re not afraid to stand up for what you think is right. (again not a bad thing) I met you and I found you to be genuine and believable, and I enjoyed our conversation. I understood your frustrations with the City, and I even felt comfortable enough speaking with you to tell you about something I didn’t particularly care for. (Your comment about the Police Officer at the City Council meeting). Something I wouldn’t have done if I thought you were a hot head or argumentative. Believe it or not our conversation that day was one of the highpoints of the day for me. Thank you for coming in to talk with me.

That's a principle over which James Comey is willing to sacrifice his career. He proved it in 2004 when he was deputy attorney general. Comey was asked to reauthorize a package of top secret, warrantless surveillance targeting foreign terrorists. But Comey told us "significant aspects" of the massive program were not lawful. He wouldn't be specific because it's still top secret.
Scott Pelley: This was not something you were willing to stand for?
James Comey: No, I was the deputy attorney general of the United States. We were not going to authorize, reauthorize or participate in activities that did not have a lawful basis.
At the time, Comey was in charge at the Justice Department because Attorney General John Ashcroft was in intensive care with near fatal pancreatitis. When Comey refused to sign off, the president's Chief of Staff Andy Card headed to the hospital to get Ashcroft's OK.
Scott Pelley: You got in a car with lights and siren and raced to the hospital to beat the president's chief of staff there?

My prior boss at one of these lethal, ruthless, corporate banks couldn't wrap his head around the fact that I would not pressure customers into buying "insurances". A trainer came and badgered me for hours to force me into pressuring customers. No dice. She was relentless to where my boss finally told her that was enough because it was clear I was ready to walk. Employees baited with bonuses and awards and intimidated with firing. I asked one of the "top" employees how did she do that. She lowered her head and said she targeted students. The day after, another worker was being escorted out in tears. I asked her what happened? She said she quit because of the same pressuring. Our training group of new hires began at 15. After 6 months, 2 were left.
I went into personnel and told them "I am here to do the best honest work I can give you. If you are going to beat on me, than fire me right now." That branch was rated the cruelest call center in their world wide network. Corruption culture of greed.
